Kate Disher-Quill is Melbourne based artist working across photography, film and multimedia. As a visual communicator she is drawn to weaving stories into art to explore themes reflected in her community and the wider Australian society. Central to her artistic practice is the desire to create new and empowering works that inspire connections and understanding between the subject and audience. She has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows around the country. Her most recent publication Earshot, was launched through Black Inc Books in March 2019. As well as running a full-time photography business, Kate has facilitated workshops, speaks regularly for various arts and education organisations and is a proud advocate for the representation and inclusion of people with disability particularly within the arts and media.
